Don Bosco Children Fund: Our History
The Don Bosco Children Fund (DBCF) is a non-profit organisation operating under the laws of the Kingdom of Cambodia and a key program of the Don Bosco Foundation of Cambodia (DBFC). Founded in 1992 by the Salesians of Don Bosco, the program has grown to include five branches across the country: Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville (head office), Battambang, Poipet, and Kep.
Driven by the belief that every child deserves a future, DBCF was created to respond to the harsh reality that poverty often denies children access to even basic education, let alone professional or technical training. Through scholarships and support, the Don Bosco Children Fund helps these children attend school, build their skills, and work toward a brighter tomorrow.

About the Don Bosco Foundation of Cambodia
The Don Bosco Foundation of Cambodia (DBFC) is a non-profit educational organisation established in 1991 to provide technical skills training for youth living in extreme poverty and to support the education of marginalised children and young adults. DBFC was created in response to Cambodia’s urgent need for reconstruction in the post-war era and is part of the global network of the Salesians of Don Bosco.
During the 1980s, the United Nations invited the Salesians in Thailand to assist children and youth in Cambodian refugee camps. In response, DBFC established temporary technical schools in the camps, laying the foundation for its future work in Cambodia. Following the signing of the peace agreements, the Cambodian government invited DBFC to settle permanently in the country.
DBFC made history by establishing the first printing press in Cambodia after the war, located at the Don Bosco Technical School in Phnom Penh, to translate, publish, and restore educational materials that had been destroyed during the Khmer Rouge regime. The organisation also rebuilt schools in rural villages, gaining recognition as one of the first institutions to provide technical education and offer scholarships to Cambodian children, helping them build brighter futures.
